This place took me in, when I was about 14 years old, and treated me, as their own..I'm 34 now..Thank you all, and my house parents rocked!!
this home is a great place for kids in need of a secure family environment that emulates the ideal home rather than some of the less than optimal foster homes. the kids live in a house with a couple who gives them the security and structured life they need.
Sunnybrook took me and my twin brother in at the age of 12, it was perfect for us there. They treat each and every child just like family. I have never been to a better place. A year and a half after me being there, I was sent back home to live with my father. Shortly after I was put in custody again. I wish I was able to go back there, they give you a secure, loving feeling. They take the kids to church, on outings, on vacations. And at the beginning of every summer they go to a christian camp for 11 days. It is truly the best place for any child in our situation to be!
I was taken n by Sunnybrook at the age of 14. I was not so sure at first how things was gonna be but I was also thinking at the same time that anywhere was gonna be better for me than the environment and home I was n with my birth mother. I absolutely loved it with my foster parents (house parents) they showed us love and support and was always there for each one of us. I was an "A" student n school we was always n church and doing things as a family. I never wanted to have to leave but at the age of 16 I was sent back to live with my mother. To this day I think about all the good times with my family at Sunnybrook. I will cherish those days forever. Sunnybrook rocks!!!!
